NEWBIRD, the school Mascot. The wings symbolize our dual language approach: one wing represents learning in English (E) and the other learning in Japanese (J). The T represents translanguaging: The use of English, Japanese and/or other languages according to context. What a strong and solid bird this is!
New IS name logo designed by a parent. The two buds represent the dual-language approach. The three lines are symbolic of the three-year age range of the multiage classrooms.
